![]() ![]() By accident, hit hibernate instead of shutdown, 40 minutes later it still hadn't, I held the power button to shut it off. Tried using msconfig, disabled everything, it started up. Windows memory diagnostic tool also did not turn up anything. If I wait a bit more, eventually it works, allowing me to shut it off.Īlso tried Startup Repair, it found nothing. Pressed ctrl+alt+del, it said it wasn't able to open the logon aplication. Restarted again, same thing, taking way too long to show the dekstop. Used window's check disk for problems, nothing found except 1 bad cluster. Tried restarting in safe mode, there it works ok. Clicked the logo to shutdown, took some minutes to open, then chose to turn off, took it's time. Even so, it hadn't loaded most of the programs it usually does, as I could see from looking at the task manager. I tried restarting, and it took almost 20 minutes to get to the desktop. ![]() Today, after resuming from hibernation (which was also taking longer then usual) it got absurdly slow. Performance has been acceptable for all this time, but these last few days it has begun showing trouble.Īt first, very slow to startup, instead of 30 seconds after typing in the password, It would take 5 minutes to get to the desktop. I have a Windows 7 Starter laptop that has been in use for a little over two years.
